First and foremost, seeking support through counseling is a strength! And even if you or your loved ones see it as a weakness or something scary, it's okay to feel weak and it's okay to be nervous. These are normal human emotions - especially when we try something new.

As a professional counselor, I am committed to a certain way of doing things:

  • To listen, and listen well

  • To be kind, respectful, and fun (sometimes!)

  • To help you feel heard, understood, and valued

  • To help you understand yourself and others more deeply

  • To help you set and reach goals

  • To utilize proven techniques backed by research

  • To offer suggestions that may help

  • To challenge you at times, in a respectful way

  • To follow ethical guidelines set forth by the American Counseling Association

The main counseling theory that I utilize is Carl Rogers’ Client Centered Therapy, which emphasizes an unconditional positive regard for the client and a non-judgmental approach. I strive to see every client with respect, genuine care and concern, and even awe at their unique life experiences and way of being. I also incorporate artistic, Cognitive Behavioral, existential, imagery, play, solution-focused, attachment-based, and trauma techniques.  I work best with children of all ages, young adults, women, parents, couples, families, and veterans. Some of my areas of focus include Adoption and Fostering, Anxiety/OCD/Panic/Phobias, Christian Counseling, Infant Adjustment and Bonding, Parenting, Relationships, Self-esteem, and Trauma.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, the highest level of licensure for counselors, as wel as a Nationally Certified Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I have completed many types of professional training, including hypnotherapy, Externship for Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples, Emotionally Focused Family Therapy, and various trauma therapies.

Counseling is an art - and I am an artist at heart. Let's make something beautiful together!
